The Chinese authorities said that the economy has grown by 9.5% in 2004. The China's demand for glass has considerably increased as well, and the Chinese glass industry has risen consequently. The total flat glass demand will increase 11.5% annually to 360 million weight cases in the year 2005. In the next five years, both production and demand will continue to grow. The Chinese automobile industry will increase its demand for glass and will lead the industry in growth. The Chinese construction industry will remain the largest market for glass.
